French-Portuguese, based in the Paris region, Patrick de Carvalho dove into the internet in 1995, straight out of studies in home automation. Three years later, at 24, he created his first startup, Planetepresse.com, pioneering press subscription e-commerce in France.
Then came February 2001: the dot-com crash took the startup down. It was inside that first fall that the mantra that never left him was born — "Je Ne Perds Jamais" (Never Lose), inspired by Nelson Mandela: "Either I win, or I learn." It became the backbone of everything he has built since. The same year, at Orange, he met Pascal Roche — the start of a partnership that has now lasted over 25 years. An independent consultant at Orange for 7 years, he led Orange Automotive division projects — including a mobile GPS navigation solution in 2004, before Waze and Google Maps — and took part in the marketing of the exclusive iPhone launch in France on 29 November 2007.
In 2006, he co-founded Wayma, one of the first mobile agencies in France, in Paris. Between 2008 and 2011, Wayma reached €1.5M revenue and up to 12 employees, with clients in every sector and a strong overrepresentation of luxury. In the same period, opening of a production floor in China / Hong Kong to cover the Asian mobile market.
End of 2011, the betrayal. Patrick rushed back from China to rebuild the parent company in France, while Pascal Roche took over the management of the Asian studio. Several years of long and demanding recovery followed. What had been a sentence ten years earlier — "I never lose" — became an operational method: every ordeal is either a victory or a learning you can capitalise on for the next step.
In 2013, Patrick and Pascal founded Apps Velocity — a consulting firm, development studio and digital & AI transformation agency, based in Paris. To date: +1,000 client projects delivered and +€30M cumulative revenue. Apps Velocity is the parent company that incubates the SaaS, methods and service offerings of the ecosystem — including RAPID by Apps Velocity, the AI integration method for companies.
In 2020, in the middle of the COVID pandemic, he launched Paon.app, an interactive presentation SaaS in 7 languages (+€100M in contracts signed by users). In 2022, he launched the #JNPJ podcast, which became the backbone of a full editorial ecosystem (Studio #JNPJ with 18 thematic podcasts, speakers agency, publishing house). In 2024, with Pascal Roche, he co-founded 72H Chrono — specialised in creator economy and brand podcasts (72h-podcast.com) — then the spin-off 72H CHRONO PRO that productises a website + content + LinkedIn triptych delivered in 72 hours for SMEs. In 2025, publication of "The Voice in the AI Era" — the first title in the "Les derniers Hommes" business collection at #JNPJ Editions — and launch of ConstrOK, a vertical SaaS for the construction industry.
In 2026, he launched All In, his editorial platform dedicated to LinkedIn for B2B SME leaders — integrated into the #JNPJ ecosystem and Apps Velocity. Blog, podcast, newsletter and signature methods, 100% free with no fluff.

End of 2011, a partner betrayal threatens the parent company. Patrick rushes back from China to rebuild it, while Pascal Roche takes over the management of the Asian studio. Several years of demanding personal and professional recovery follow — long and testing, but navigated with the #JNPJ method as a compass.
Between 2008 and 2011, Wayma — co-founded in 2006 — becomes one of the first French mobile agencies with €1.5M revenue and up to 12 employees. Clients across every sector, with a strong overrepresentation of luxury. Opening of a production floor in China / Hong Kong to cover Asia.
Creation of Wayma in Paris, in the very early years of mobile marketing in France. A bet on a nascent market that would become dominant a decade later.

#JNPJ Editions
The #JNPJ Editions publishing house releases the essays and business books written by Patrick — alongside a dedicated business collection on artificial intelligence, "Les derniers Hommes", which analyses the impact of AI on the key areas of business.
"Les derniers Hommes" collection
A collection of thematic business books that decode, domain by domain, the operational impact of artificial intelligence for executives, managers and entrepreneurs. Each title offers a strategic and pragmatic reading, anchored in field reality and the hands-on feedback from the Apps Velocity ecosystem.
Titles in the collection
A strategic essay on the human voice — identity, uniqueness, future — at a time when artificial intelligence can clone, synthesise and replace it. At the crossroads of podcasting, tech and authority. Opens the "Les derniers Hommes" business collection. Audiobook coming.
Order the bookFar more than an autobiography: an entrepreneurial resilience journey for anyone who wants to start a business. Patrick tells 30 years of building, hardship and rebounds, and extracts the operational principles that mean you never truly lose — you either win, or you learn. A mindset, posture and method guide to navigate the failures and pivots that mark every entrepreneur's life.
A hybrid book in two parts, original by design. First part: an operational decoding of AI for companies — how to understand it, frame it, integrate it, run it, and extract real competitive advantage. Second part: a series of literary business essays treated as dystopia and utopia on the great themes AI will transform — economy, employment, productivity, power, creativity, education. A dual reading — pragmatic and speculative — co-written with Pascal Roche.
A science fiction novel that gives its name to the business collection. AI and its impact on humanity explored through long-form fiction — a narrative anchored in contemporary tech reality that extends the collection's essays through another path: storytelling.
Brother in arms since 2001
Met at Orange in 2001, Pascal has been Patrick's permanent partner for over two decades. Co-founder of Apps Velocity, co-founder of 72H Chrono, CTO of the ecosystem, co-author of "AI Chronicles". Together, they share a common conviction: technology is a lever, not an end in itself — and entrepreneurship is practised, not theorised.
